Amanda Lojeski’s E-Trike

Amanda Lojeski’s E-Trike

Amanda impressed us with her passion for adaptive sports through her equipment application essay and accompanying videos. We awarded her a $3,500 grant for a custom hand made tricycle with electric assist. This trike required a complex build that included some fabricated parts which took awhile to make. Shortly after receiving the bike, Amanda sent us this note and pictures.

It actually took ten months for the bike shop to finish making my custom made bike. I just got the bike on Friday and I absolutely love it so much!! Thanks so much for the grant I will forever be grateful for it.

The bike makes me feel so happy and free!! I love that I now have the freedom to ride with my family and friends and because I have a motor on it I can go for many of miles. I have probably put on over 50 miles already and I have had to charge it a couple of times.

“I ride it just about every single day. It has truly been life changing.”

This custom tricycle is one of 25 different kinds of specialized adaptive equipment that GoHawkeye has awarded since our inception. Amanda is just one of 95 adaptive athletes we have helped. We couldn’t do this without your donations so please send us a tax deductible check or make an online DONATION.
