GoHawkeye Awards Equipment Grant

July 20, 2016 Off By Craig Stein

Francisco Burac applied for and was awarded the GoHawkeye Foundations equipment grant for the last application cycle. His unmet financial need was for the repair of his road cycle in the amount of $1000. As a retired Army staff sergeant with eight deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, Francisco uses road biking as a way to cope with problems he has had since returning home from active duty.image
“I have been jumping bike to bike borrowed from friends for a year now,” said Francisco. “It has been a long road to having my own bike again and I am grateful to the GoHawkeye Foundation,” he continued.
The GoHawkeye Foundation has two equipment grant cycles per year with the second now in progress. Apply online to be considered for assistance with your unmet financial need for adaptive equipment. The current cycle for grant applications ends December 31, 2016.
