By empowering adaptive athletes, we promote the benefits of outdoor recreation and sports especially for people living with a disability. A life changing injury or condition can foster uncertainty and depression. Adaptive sports can lift this veil by demonstrating that with specialized equipment, a supportive environment and a willingness to push the mind and body beyond what is imagined, almost anything is possible. Many times it results in a life changing experience for all of us.

The GoHawkeye Foundation has completed an exciting and successful second year of changing lives. Thanks to your support by providing scholarships, adaptive equipment and outdoor experiences, we have helped disabled veterans like Francisco Burac with road biking and Joyce Cagnon with snow biking.

Greg Bufalini, Greg Mannino and Hawkeye

We help transform the lives of people like Gregory Bufalini. a 31 year cancer survivor and above the knee amputee. This fall, GoHawkeye gave Greg a revolutionary mechanical knee that allows him to participate in outdoor sports with two legs. We brought him to Telluride, Colorado for a three day experience using the knee for hiking, mountain biking and stand up paddle board. Since his visit, Greg has been in the gym almost every day in preparation for skiing.

We have helped adaptive organizations like the Telluride Adaptive Sports Program, World Team Sports and the Special Olympics.  We are also proud to work with and support people, who despite their own disabilities, design, manufacture and create products and services that promote adaptive sports. Talented people like Jake O’Connor of ReActive Adaptations handcycles, Brian Bartlett of Leftside Industries, Kirk Williams of BirdsEyeOptics and Sam Morris of Zen Warrior Training.

Helena, Hawkeye and Anika

We are inspired  by the efforts of young people like 11 year old hikers Anika Parr and Helena Burger who have raised over $6,000.00 for adaptive youth development and kid activities through GoHawkeye.

We want to impact more lives by giving away equipment and experiences. You donation can provide:

  • $7,500.00 for a custom handcycle
  • $4,500.00 for a BTK Crossover mechanical knee
  • $2,000.00 for a snowbike
  • $1,100.00 for a 5 day ski camp
  • $700.00 for a 6 day off road handcycle camp

Our crew of passionate and dedicated volunteers drive this effort to promote adaptive sports. We are committed to making a difference in peoples lives- and we need your help! GoHawkeye is a recognized 501(c)3 non profit organization and donations are tax deductible. Thank you for supporting us in this important work. Help us now! GoDonate HERE
