Description

Bike … Hike … Paddle … Grand Mesa

Every summer Hawkeye embarks on an adventure that helps raise funds for the GoHawkeye Foundation. This year he will explore the Grand Mesa in Colorado by bike, hike and paddle during two different 10-15 day excursions. Last summer he added pack rafting to his hike. This was a lightweight inflatable raft with paddle and great for catching trout from the middle of high alpine lakes. This summer will include a 10 day trip in July and a 15 day trip in August where he will travel by foot, water and wheel.

The Grand Mesa, one of the world’s largest flat-top mountains rising above the Colorado and Gunnison rivers, has an average elevation of 10,000 feet and contains 300 lakes and 300 miles of multi purpose trails. The Grand Mesa National Forest has 346,555 acres and is located in western Colorado.

Please make a donation to support Hawkeye’s effort to help adaptive athletes to find fulfillment in their lives through adaptive sports. As usual, Hawkeye donates all his time and expense to this fundraiser so that your donation goes directly to helping these remarkable and inspiring athletes.
